Description

Patricia Pozo Rosich is the director of the Migraine Adaptive Brain Center and of the Headache Unit at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, and head of the Neurology Service at the same Barcelona hospital.

She holds a PhD in Medicine and is a specialist in Neurology, and she leads the Headache and Neurological Pain Research Group at the VHIR (Vall d’Hebron Research Institute).

She is also an associate professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She is a member of the Executive Committee and president-elect of the International Headache Society.

Her research interests focus on improving understanding of the pathophysiology of migraine through a multidisciplinary approach incorporating genetics, molecular biology, neuroimaging and neurophysiology. She developed the Migraine Adaptive Brain research programme, which focuses on studying the neurosensory and neuroinflammatory brain and its response to the environment.

She is a member of the International Migraine Genetics Consortium and the International Consortium for Cluster Headache Genetics. She has published original articles in high-impact journals, review articles and book chapters. She is also the author of several books, an associate editor of Cephalalgia, Neurología and the European Journal of Neurology, as well as a reviewer for multiple high-impact journals. She has received several scientific awards for her work. She is the founder and driving force behind www.midolordecabeza.org, a patient website offering professional information about headache disorders. In 2003, she was awarded a postgraduate fellowship from the ”la Caixa” Foundation.
