Analuce Canha is an assistant professor (PhD) in the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Cantabria. She also works as a researcher in Pilar Coy’s team, which has created DUFIC, a device for the in vivo collection of uterine fluid aimed at helping doctors diagnose women’s health conditions such as endometrial cancer and pregnancy-related complications. This project received funding from the CaixaImpulse Health Innovation call in 2023 and 2025.

She previously held postdoctoral research positions at the Universities of Granada and Murcia under the Requalification of the Spanish University System 2021–2023 programme – Margarita Salas Grants for the training of early-career PhDs (2021). Her research focused on studying the microbiome of the female reproductive system and its implications for gynecological and reproductive health.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Genetics and Biotechnology (2008) and a master’s degree in Comparative and Technological Molecular Genetics (2011) from the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (Portugal), a second master’s degree in Ethology and Animal Welfare (2014) from Ispa – Instituto Universitário de Ciências Psicológicas, Sociais e da Vida (Portugal), and a Marie Skłodowska-Curie European PhD in Biology and Technology of Reproductive Health, coordinated by the University of Murcia (2019).
