Clara
Aguilar is a composer and performing and sound artist. She has studied music,
as well as degrees in Journalism and Humanities, and holds a master’s degree in
Gender Studies. She currently works as a producer and composer of music for the
performing arts and film.
In theatre, she has worked with artists such as Sílvia Delagneau (RAVE), Marta Pazos (Dique), Carlota Subirós (La plaça del Diamant), Alícia Gorina (Aquell dia tèrbol que vaig sortir.... ) and Ferran Dordal (Reiseführer and Asesinato de un fotógrafo), among others; in dance, she has collaborated with Marcos Morau (Nachtträume and Totentanz) and Lisi Estaràs; in film, with Elena Martín (Creatura), Borja Cobeaga and Ginesta Guindal (Su Majestad), Bàrbara Farré (Selftape) and Mikel Gurrea (Suro); and in music, with John Talabot, among others.
With the production Pool (No Water), by Mark Ravenhill, directed by the VVAA Collective, she won the Critics’ Prize for Best Sound Space in 2019. She also directed the show L’amour toujours as part of Amor Odio series, at L’Auditori.
As CLARAGUILAR she has performed at various festivals, including Mutek, Sónar, Festival Flama in Málaga and BAM Festival in Barcelona. In March 2024, she released her second album, Figura, on Lapsus Records. She is also the creator of the soundscape for the exhibition Naufragios. Arqueología sumergida, at CaixaForum.
