Description

Laura holds a degree in Medicine from the Universitat de Barcelona and a PhD in Public Health from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where she published her thesis Loneliness, Social Support and Participation of Older People from a Health Perspective.

She is an associate professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Community Health at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Welfare, and at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universitat de Vic - Universitat Central de Catalunya. She is also a senior researcher in loneliness and ageing at both national and international levels.

Additionally, she is the academic coordinator of the postgraduate course on Care for People in Situations of Loneliness: Empowering, Connecting and Raising Awareness at the Universitat de Vic, organised by the UVIC-UCC/ICO Chair in Palliative Care and the ”la Caixa” Foundation.
