He has also been a visiting professor at universities including Yale, Oxford and Brown, as well as at the World Bank. He is currently co-editor of the Research on Economic Inequality series and editor of the Economics of Inequality handbook for the Ramón Areces Foundation. His current projects examine the relationship between individual effort and personal circumstances, the impact of new technologies (AI and automation) on inequality, and the link between inequality and growth. He is the author of the study “The impact of new technologies on wage inequality in Spain”, published by the Social Observatory of the ”la Caixa” Foundation.
