”la Caixa” Welfare Projects announces the programme for the 2011-2012 season at CaixaForum Palma. It will begin on 14 September with Forever, an innovatory project with the artist Tanit Plana, who gives a voice to women's experience of marriage.

The most up-to-date art will also be present, with an exhibition on the powerful influence of the cinema and the image on contemporary culture. The Cinema Effect: Illusion, reality and moving image. Dream and Realism will include leading international artists such as Isaac Julien, Douglas Gordon and Andy Warhol.

”la Caixa” Welfare Projects will also be organising exhibitions with social subjects. Haiti, 34 seconds afterwards will show the effort, the solidarity and the spirit of resistance of the Haitian people after the earthquake that devastated the country in January 2010 through Emilio Morenatti and Marta Ramoneda's photographs and Oriol Gispert's audiovisuals.

The 2011-2012 season will continue ?thanks to the joint organisation agreement with the Musée du Louvre? with a special exhibition on the Copts, a civilisation that came into being in Egypt in the Roman era.

The programme will pay special attention to the art of the early 20th century with a premiere at CaixaForum Palma: a major exhibition, the first in Spain, of the drawings, water colours and oils of George Grosz, regarded as one of the most important German artists of the period between the wars.

The season will end with the exhibition of photography Hidden Spain. Photographs by Cristina García Rodero. Collection of Contemporary Art Fundación ”la Caixa”, which documents the festivals, the traditions and the ways of life associated with rural Spain.     More information in the PDF press release
