CaixaForum+ reaches its first anniversary with over 170,000 subscribers related to music. Together, these two disciplines account for 50% of CaixaForum+ views. As regards formats, full-length documentaries dominate in terms of user preference over other formats such as series, interviews or podcasts. Within documentaries, biographies have aroused most interest.

With the launch of CaixaForum+, the ”la Caixa” Foundation set out to fill a gap in the non-fiction audiovisual offering in our country, and in just one year it has carved out a niche for itself in the complex ecosystem of audiovisual content platforms in Spain, with its commitment to free, quality programming. In these first months of the project, the platform has not ceased to add content, until reaching the current 1,500 items, with the aim of becoming the reference platform in the world of culture and scientific dissemination in Spanish.

Throughout this first year, CaixaForum+ has released a total of 188 titles in a wide range of formats, including documentary series and films, interviews, podcasts, short films, dialogues and debates, concerts, shows, and so on. Of these, almost half – 46% – are original productions of the platform, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to generating cultural and scientific content and supporting national producers and creators. Some of the most-watched titles on CaixaForum+ are part of this original production, such as the Booklovers series (the most-viewed of the year), Iconos de la Ciencia or Fanzilona.

The CaixaForum+ offering has been expanding with the constant addition of content from more than twenty collaborators: museums, festivals and leading national and international cultural institutions, such as the Museo del Prado, the Fundació Joan Miró, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, L’Auditori and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Granada Festival and the Temporada Alta, among many others. In addition, the platform has been the online home of such well-established festivals as In-Edit, dedicated to music documentaries, and Moritz Feed Dog, which focuses on fashion documentaries.

Some of the original productions of CaixaForum+ have been selected in prestigious national and international competitions, such as the Festival de Málaga (Sonoma, Fernando Méndez-Leite, La memoria del cine, Cocina Aural), the Serielizados (Fanzilona), the Temporada Alta (Site Un-Specific), the Festival Internacional de Cine de Cali and the In-Edit (From Vinyl to Camila).
