Description
Anna Escolà holds a degree in Psychology from the Universitat de Barcelona. Since 2002, she has been dedicated to supporting older adults, initially in residential settings, at a day centre and with the Association of Relatives of People with Alzheimer’s in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, and later in the health and social care sector.
In 2011, she joined EAPS Mutuam, a psychosocial care team promoted by the Comprehensive Care for People with Advanced Diseases Programme of the ”la Caixa” Foundation and managed by Grup Mutuam, where she has rotated through different services. She currently works in the Palliative Care Unit at the Mutuam Güell Intermediate Care Hospital and in the Home Care and Support Teams Programme in Horta and Gràcia. Additionally, she provides emotional support and conducts workshops at the School for Carers of the ”la Caixa” Foundation.
In the academic field, Escolà holds two master’s degrees, one in Clinical Neuropsychology and the other in Psycho-oncology, and is recognised by the General Council of Psychology of Spain as an expert in Psycho-oncology and Palliative Care. In 2010, she completed a postgraduate course in Comprehensive Care for People with Advanced Illnesses and their Families at the Universitat Abat Oliba. She is currently taking a postgraduate course in Bioethics at the Institut Borja de Bioètica.
