56 seconds readThe CosmoCaixa Science Museum hosts the premiere in Spain of The Science Behind Pixar, an interactive exhibition that reveals the science, technology, engineering and maths used by the artists and computer scientists who help bring Pixar’s films to the big screen.
The exhibition, created by the Museum of Science, Boston in close cooperation with Pixar Animation Studios is organised into eight sections, corresponding to the steps in the process Pixar uses to transform an idea into a film: Modelling, Rigging, Surfaces, Sets & Cameras, Animation, Simulation, Lighting and Rendering.
Through videos and interviews with workers, visitors will discover real examples of the technical challenges behind some of their favourite Pixar films, from Toy Story to Coco, and including WALL·E, Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo, among many others.
The exhibition, which can be seen in Barcelona until 3 September, brings together dozens of elements that will enable visitors to experiment physically and virtually with the techniques this film studio employs every day. So they will discover first-hand how the lighting of a scene or the camera placement can influence our emotions.
