Description
He is a researcher at the Heritage Institute of the University of Zaragoza and principal investigator for the MINECO R&D&I project Photography and Modern Architecture in Spain, 1925–1965 (FAME).
His thesis on the architect Rafael Aburto was award-winning and published in 2005 by the Arquia Foundation (Arquia/thesis No. 18), receiving the 2007 COAVN Prize for Architectural Culture. In 2005, he curated an exhibition on the architect organised by the Ministry of Housing at the Arquerías de Nuevos Ministerios in Madrid. He has also curated several exhibitions held in 2014 and 2017 at the ICO Museum in Madrid as part of the official PHotoEspaña Programme.
The author and editor of more than twenty books for publishers such as Abada, Turner, La Fábrica and Arquia, he has an extensive and award-winning scientific output of articles and international conference papers. He has been a visiting professor at world-renowned institutions, including the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) in Montreal, the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, the Center for Creative Photography in Arizona, Columbia University, and the International Center of Photography in New York.
